6 Nonnewaug Art Students Selected for NAEA National Art Honor Society National Exhibit

WOODBURY – This past spring, 1,160 submissions were received for the third annual National Art Honor Society/National Junior Art Honor Society (NAHS/NJAHS) Juried Exhibition.

Only 66 works were selected for exhibition in the NAEA Studio and Gallery in Alexandrea, VA, and six of those works were created by students at Nonnewaug High School.

The works of graduated seniors Izzy Pecci, Courtney Klimak, Mary Bibbey, and Breanna Harding, rising senior Emily Hanson, and rising junior Bryce Bauer’s have been on display in the gallery since June 14, and will remain on display until Sept. 21.

“The exhibition demonstrates how the visual arts provide a context for all forms of learning and career
preparation,” said NAEA President Kim Huyler Defibaugh. “We are living in an age of preponderant visual
images, and proficiency in visual arts translates into valuable skills that include and extend beyond artistic
