AmeriCorps Helps Clean Up Woodbury Parks

AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps recently cleared and built about 3 miles of trails in Orenaug Park, and built 3 benches by Bethel Rock, which overlooks Orenaug Park.

WOODBURY – An AmeriCorps team of 10 recently worked in Woodbury on a project sponsored jointly by the Town of Woodbury and Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust.

AmeriCorps field team leader Alan Kohlschmidt told Just Woodbury that its National Civilian Community Corps cleared and built about 3 miles of trails in Orenaug Park, and built 3 benches by Bethel Rock, which overlooks Orenaug Park.

At Flanders, the NCCC built about ¼ mile of a river trail and made 18 signs to put up in Orenaug Park so hikers could see exactly which trails they are hiking.
