Arrest Made in December Handgun Theft

WOODBURY – A man who was accused of breaking into a White Deer Rocks Road residence in November and stealing a handgun was arrested by Woodbury police on Tuesday, May 14.

Richard A. Cable, 37, of Washington is accused of selling the handgun to a drug dealer in Waterbury. The firearm was immediately recovered and the dealer was arrested by Waterbury Police.

Cable was charged with third-degree burglary, stealing a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm,
illegal transfer of a pistol or revolver, carrying a pistol without a permit, fifth-degree larceny, and second-degree criminal mischief.

Cable remains in custody on a court set $150,000 bond for this case, as well as several other crimes throughout the state, including bank robbery and weapons violations.
