Bank Records Show Stephen Tooth Stole From His Mother

WOODBURY – A Naugatuck man who is accused of stealing large amounts of money from his mother was arrested and charged with first degree Larceny. The arrest of Stephen Tooth, 47, followed an investigation by the Woodbury Police Department.

According to the police report, the victim, a former employee of the Town of Woodbury, reported the incident on Feb. 2. The victim identified Tooth, her son, as the lone suspect.

During the investigation, a search warrant was executed at Ion Bank for bank records in the name of Stephen Tooth.

On July 3, Tooth was stopped in Naugatuck by Naugatuck police and placed under arrest. Tooth posted a $25,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 19.

The amount of money Tooth is accused of stealing from his mother was not disclosed. However, first-degree larceny is defined as any amount, property or services over $10,000.
