Board of Education Candidate George Bauer

Name: George Bauer

Occupation: Engineering Consultant

Educational background: BS in Aeorspace Engineering, MS in Mechanical Engineering, Adjunct Instructor for Fairfield University and University of New Haven Schools of Engineering

What are your ties to Region 14?

Proud parent of 4 Region 14 educated children.

Why would you like to serve on the Region 14 Board of Education?

I would like to continue to serve our students and community by working with my fellow board members in providing the best modern education for our students, while striving to implement efficient and smart use of our resources.

What do you feel are Region 14’s strengths and weaknesses, and how do you feel Region 14’s weaknesses can become strengths?

Region 14’s foremost strengths are rooted in our talented and caring teachers. Attracting and developing our teachers should be a top priority. Our strengths also lie in implementing and use of technology to prepare our students for a modern global society.

If you are re-elected, how would you make Region 14 the best public school system it can be?

I will work with our fellow board members to support our teachers, provide facilities and technology to prepare our students for a modern rapidly changing world, help manage the Nonnewaug High School renovation project, and support clubs, sports, and other organizations to develop well rounded students.
