WOODBURY – Braeden Purser-Eber of the James Bauer DMD Braves is the recipient of Woodbury Baseball & Softball’s 2018 Kuhla MVP Award.
Purser-Eber, a seventh-grader at Woodbury Elementary School and a member of the WBS 12U travel team, received the award Saturday during the WBS closing ceremonies.
During the ceremony, Purser-Eber was described as someone who can single-handedly change the tone of a game. Purser-Eber helped lead the Braves to the Majors championship.
Other awards recipients in the majors included Brayden Altieri, who received the Mandy award as Best Pitcher, George Urlich, who received the Doc Rosen Award as the league’s Most Improved Player, and Spencer Pasquariello, who received the Sportsmanship Award.
Altieri and Ulrich play for the Webster Bank Brewers, and Pasquariello plays for the Soulcraft Martial Arts Orioles.
Sadie Girgasky received the Mandy Pitching Award for Softball. Girgasky plays for the U12 Kolesnik Law Firm Wildcats.
Five other baseball and softball players received the Sportsmanship Award for their respective divisions. They were: Trevor Santopietro (Minors Baseball, Ovens of France Mariners), Kamden Blackman (Rookies Baseball, Euroline White Sox), Carley Shook (U12 Softball, Kolesnik Law Firm Wildcats), Eva Ripperger (U10 Softball, San Remo Narwahls), and Lila Farrelly (U8 Softball, Woodbury Farm Market Wolverines).
