Bus 6 Families Say Good-bye to Mr. Don

WOODBURY – All-Star Transportation bus driver Don Quint is driving off to retirement, and the Mitchell Elementary School parents and students who take Bus 6 gave him quite the farewell on Friday.

Students showed their love for “Mr. Don” by making signs, which they brought to their respective bus stops despite a driving rainstorm that brought more than 3 inches of rain to Woodbury. Parents also chipped in to get 

The grassroots effort was led by Mitchell Elementary School parent Joy Savulak, whose two daughters are part of a bus stop known by Quint as “The Flock” because of all the children at it. 

Quint, who has lived in Woodbury most of his life, has been driving for 15 years for Region 14 schools, and said he is going to miss driving Bus 6.

Quint is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a life member of the VFW. He has been honored in the past at Mitchell Elementary School’s Veterans Day celebrations.
