December 6 @ 7:00 pm
Chocolatier Pam Dorgan, owner of Plum Brook Chocolate will give a talk on chocolate and chocolate making at the Woodbury Public Library on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00 PM. At the talk, participants will learn how Pam got started with making chocolate, what makes fine chocolate and how chocolate is made. Participants will also be part of a chocolate tasting – a few solids of different percentages will be passed around and discussed.
Pam Dorgan first began working with chocolate over 50 years ago helping her mother make hundreds of butter cream truffles for the holidays. She launched Plum Brook Chocolate in 2013 after careers in nursing and corporate healthcare. Her mission is to provide fine quality, handmade all-natural artisan chocolates to customers and friends, while enriching the local community and the community of cacao farmers far away.
Pam is a 2013 honors graduate of the Ecole Chocolat Professional School of Chocolate Arts, Vancouver and studied at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. Her chocolates have won several awards including Connecticut Magazine’s Best Chocolate and First Place at the 2016 CT Culinary Food Awards. Pam lives in Woodbury with her husband Peter. Plum Brook Chocolate is named for the stream that runs on her property. The Chocolate Talk is open to all but registration is requested.
