Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department Annual Christmas Tree Burn

January 19 @ 6:00 pm

The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department  will hold its annual Twelfth Night Christmas Tree bonfire after dark on Saturday, Jan. 19.

“It’s emphasizes fire safety by getting rid of a fire-and-litter hazard,” says Chief Janet Morgan. “It’s also a dramatic community event for spectators to see all these old, dry Christmas trees and boughs flare up and burn in a huge pile.”

As part of the tradition dating back decades, the department will serve hot cocoa with donuts and give children of all ages a chance to look at the town’s fire equipment.  The controlled burn will start after dark at 6pm.

In case of heavy rain or snow, the backup date is a day later on January 20.
