Chloe Calo is Collecting Children’s Books for Trick or Treat Street Table

WOODBURY – Last fall, Nonnewaug High School student Chloe Calo came up with an idea to do something different for Trick or Treat Street, the school’s annual community safe trick or treat event.

Calo decided to collect gently-used children’s books to give out to any trick or treater who wanted one.

Her idea was received so well that Calo, a junior, is collecting children’s books again for this year’s Trick or Treat Street, which will be held this Saturday at Woodbury Middle School.

Beginning Monday, drop-off boxes will be set up at all four Region 14 schools, which will allow anyone in the community to make a donation. Calo will pick up the new and gently-used books on Friday.

Calo said she is also accepting books on the day of the event for any trick or treaters who may want to drop them off, or trade their books in.
