Located at 1143 Main St. S., a stone’s-throw from the Southbury town line, Constantines Restaurant may be the best-kept secret in Woodbury.
“Some people drive past looking for a fancier place, but they’re missing out on some great food,” says Constantines Restaurant General Manager Eva Sfinarolakis.
“We had a couple who told us they have lived in Woodbury for 30 years, and never came in here before,” Eva says. “They’re now regulars.”
Constantines Restaurant has been in business for 39 years, and serves up reasonably-priced Italian, Greek, and American dishes in a friendly atmosphere. Most of their menu is made in house: For example, they make their own soups, bake their own pies, and make the baklava.
And on Saturdays, they also make their own prime rib.
Constantines was started by Eva and her husband, Steve Sfinarolakis, who passed away last spring after a brief illness. Steve started the business with Eva because, as Eva says, “We didn’t know any better.”
Steve’s family was in the restaurant business and it natural for him to follow in their footsteps. Since Steve’s passing, has been maintaining the same quality of food, hard work, quality products, care in preparation, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere. Eva says that people come in as strangers and leave as friends, and that Constantines regulars are like family.
Eva says she is happy that she and her late husband chose Woodbury as the place to launch their business – and call home.
“It’s a pleasure and a privilege to do business in Woodbury,” Eva says. “It’s a close-knit community, filled with people with integrity.”Constantines Woodbury Restaurant Week Specials
