Flanders Art Committee members: Chair – Joan Anthony, Melody Asbury, Marc Chabot, Diana Chamberlain, Robin Johnson, Beth Lyons, Karen Reddington-Hughes, and Cynthia Zinser will display their work in painting, ceramics, mixed media, mosaic, drawing, and needle felting at an exhibit being held from September 22nd through October 22nd at Walker Road Vineyards in Woodbury. The vineyard is owned by Art Committee member Jim Frey and his wife.
Members of the Flanders Art Committee are committed to furthering the creation and enjoyment of art, as practicing or professional artists, as well as individuals who appreciate art. Members of the committee have variously had their work in area shows and galleries, and their work is well-known in the area.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork will support ongoing efforts to restore the studio and artwork of Natalie Van Vleck.
Over the years, members of Flanders Art Committee have worked to preserve, restore, frame and exhibit artwork by Van Vleck, an early Modernist painter and founder of Flanders. A current project is to improve the lighting in Natalie’s studio to better showcase her art.
The exhibit will continue through Sunday, October 22nd during the winery’s business hours of Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5PM.
For more information on the exhibit call Flanders at (203)263-3711, ext. 10.
