Fire Department Collects 343 Pounds of Food for Woodbury Food Bank

WOODBURY – The United Way of Greater Waterbury enlisted the help of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department to fill the Woodbury Food Bank as part of United Way’s annual “Day of Action to Stock the Pantry.”

Woodbury residents generously supported the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department’s effort by donating 343 pounds of food to supply the Woodbury Food Bank.

The campaign kicked off on Jun 1, and food was weighed at the Fire Department headquarters. United Way volunteers Lisa Parillo and Marie DePalma of IBM assisted Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan and Community Services Council of Woodbury president Bob Taylor with the weigh-in, and firefighter Bruce Pelletier assisted with the delivery.

. Day of Action is a worldwide volunteer effort through United Way to do something great through volunteerism on the ‘Longest Day of the Year’.
