WOODBURY – The Public Works Department said that replacement of the Hazel Plain Road bridge will begin on Monday, April 29.

Hazel Plain Road will be closed. Detour signs for traffic will be in place for the duration of the closure. Hazel Plain Road will remain closed until the project is complete.

Traffic will be detoured using Washington Road (Route 47), Hoop Pole Road and Sprain Brook Road.

According to a November 2017 proposal, the replacement will consist of replacing the existing structure with a 37-foot clear span bridge with 15-inch deep prestressed deck units on integral abutments and h-piles founded on bedrock.

The Public Works Department did not give a timeline for the project, or an estimated completion date.
