WOODBURY – Mitchell Elementary School honored American heroes at its annual Veterans Day celebration on Thursday.

Students invited their family and friends who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard to be a part of the celebration. The Mitchell Elementary School chorus sang patriotic songs, and students created a video slideshow of their heroes in uniform.

The veterans and their families were then honored at a breakfast reception after the ceremony.

The veterans who were honored during the ceremony included Louis Way, Kenneth Ordway, William Gleissner, Matthew Parry, David Seguinot, Ray Koemp, Michael Parker, Steve Vendt, Erik McCabe, Lewis Zaza, Mr. LeBlanc, Michael McDevitt, Cono Babbino, Stanley Tracy, Anthony Gugino, Richard Alther, William Chapman, Michael Braun, Margie Metcalfe, Ed Rehak, Brandon Poythress, John Wolf, and Donald Quint.

Editor Tim Parry and Photographer Olena Samodelko were both at the Veterans Day celebration. Here is their combined photo gallery of the event.
