Nonnewaug Field Hockey Blanks Shepaug Varsity, Then Gets First JV Win

WOODBURY – The Nonnewaug Field Hockey team raised its record to 5-1 with a 5-0 win over Shepaug on Thursday.

Aylssa Renihan scored 2 goals for the Chiefs, while Hannah LoPresti, Ava Cawley, and Elena Eschmann had 1 goal each.

Goalie Adrianna Gottmeier had 3 saves for Nonnewaug.

Nonnewaug head coach Beth Tarby was even more excited that the Chiefs’ junior varsity team picked up its first win of the season, 2-0 over Shepaug.

Erin Classey and Tori Canonico each scored a goal for the Chiefs, and Anna Culkin had 2 saves in goal.
