Nonnewaug Girls Top Terryville 44-28

TERRYVILLE – Mary Bibbey scored 20 points to help lead Nonnewaug to a 44-28 win over Terryville on Tuesday night.

The Chiefs held an 18-16 halftime lead before it stepped up its defense.

“We just talked about defensive pressure in the second half and coming out strong in the third quarter,” Nonnewaug head coach Adam Brutting said. “We put a lot of pressure on their guards and got a lot of turnovers.”

Riley Becker had a pair of three-pointers to end the game with 6 points. Jen Charette added 6, and was 4-for-4 from the foul line. Maddie Woodward added 5 points.

Nonnewaug (4-3) visits Northwestern on Friday. Nonnewaug (4-3) was scheduled to play Friday, but school and activities have been cancelled due to the bomb cyclone.
