Nonnewaug Honor Society Collecting Monetary Donations for Hurricane Relief

WOODBURY – The Nonnewaug High School National Honor Society is collecting monetary donations to help the American Red Cross’s hurricane relief efforts.

Donations can be made out to the American Red Cross, and will be accepted at the high school’s main office until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. Donations should be made out to the attention of Melissa Hodges, who is the Faculty Adviser of the Nonnewaug High School National Honor Society.

The honor society initially wanted to move its June 2017 blood drive to Sept. 21 to support the American Red Cross’s relief efforts. However, after reaching out to the American Red Cross, Hodges said the agency told her financial donations would be the most useful at this time. Hodges said there will be a blood drive in December.
