WOODBURY – The Nonnewaug boys basketball team sent its seniors off with a win in their last-ever home regular season game. The Chiefs (15-3) walked away with a dominating 88-39 over Thomaston.

Senior co-captains JD Gengenbach and Jarrett Michaels, who have suited up with the varsity since their freshman year, and newcomer Justin Southard were honored in a pregame ceremony.

But it wasn’t just the basketball players who were celebrated. Senior cheerleaders Amanda Pellino, Kat Segui, and Ashlynn Vidic were honored during the ceremony as well.

Colby Steinfeld led Nonnewaug with 23 points while Michaels scored 19 and Gengenbach 13. Tyler Lindberg had 7 blocked shots.

Nonnewaug takes on undefeated Wamogo Tuesday in the final regular season game for both teams.
