WOODBURY – Don’t look now, but the Nonnewaug field hockey team is on a 6-game winning streak.

The Chiefs have not lost a game since trading in its traditional skirts for pink ones for breast cancer awareness. That includes a 3-1 win Friday against Wamogo, its Play 4 The Cure game.

During the game, Nonnewaug players and parents held a bake sale that raised nearly $300 for Play 4 The Cure, according to Nonnewaug head coach Beth Tarby.

The six-game winning streak has raised Nonnewaug’s record to 8-5-1. Nonnewaug is in second place in the Berkshire League, and has qualified for the CIAC Class S tournament.
