WOODBURY – Ain’t no thing like a chicken wing…
The Parks & Recreation Commission has approved Wing Fest Connecticut’s move of its event from Naugatuck to Strong Preserve Park. The event will be held on June 8 from noon to 6 p.m.
The event features chicken wings and other food, as well as entertainment and games. According to minutes from the Feb. 5 Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, the group expects more than 1,000 people to attend the event.
Veronica Parsole, the owner of Wing Fest Connecticut, said admission would be $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.
Parsole told the commission that two to four police officers would be needed for traffic flow, and Parsole agreed to pay an extra deposit of $300 should there be any damage from cars parking at Strong Preserve Park in inclement weather.
Parks & Rec commissioner Tim Drakeley suggested that all Woodbury vendors be allowed to participate in the event.
According to the website Best Things Connecticut, Wing Fest Connecticut 2018 provided top notch wings from more than 15 different restaurants and food trucks. Attendees could try more than 30 flavor varieties and enjoy your wings with some fresh cold beer. There were also eating contests and shopping vendors.
