Region 14 is Holding a Safe Schools Forum

Mitchell Elementary School was built in 1950, and hosts 369 students who live in Woodbury.

WOODBURY – Are you concerned about safety and security measures in place in Region 14 schools? Region 14 will host a safe schools forum to address those issues this Thursday, March 15, in the Woodbury Middle School library at 6:30 p.m.

Woodbury Resident State Trooper Joseph Roden, Bethlehem Resident State Trooper Cono Delia, and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Anna Cutaia will discuss topics such as Social/Emotional programming, reporting protocols, “See Something, Say Something,” emergency practice drills, and the role of School Resource Officers.

In February, Cutaia said she was unable to share the specifics about Region 14’s safety and security practices with the public, as that would be a breach of security. However, Cutaia wanted to assure parents and guardians that Region 14’s safety and security practices are in alignment with Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice requirements.

The full letter sent this week by Cutaia to parents and guardians is below:
