WOODBURY – Dr. Anna Cutaia-Leonard sent a letter to parents and guardians Thursday reassuring them that Region 14 will do everything it can to keep its students safe and secure in school.
The letter was sent one day after the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida.
“Families in Connecticut know all too well what they are going through,” Cutaia-Leonard wrote.
In the letter, Cutaia-Leonard wrote she is unable to share the specifics with the public, as that would be a breach of security, but wanted to assure parents and guardians that Region 14’s safety and security practices are in alignment with Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice requirements.
“Additionally, we are also incredibly fortunate to have the benefit of having full-time School Resource Officers in each of our school buildings,” Cutaia-Leonard wrote.
