Santa Claus Helps Woodbury Tree Get Lit

WOODBURY – It’s officially the holiday season in Woodbury, as the tree on the North Green was lit Saturday afternoon.

A few hundred residents, many donning festive hats that were given away by a regional bank with a physical presence in Woodbury, cheered as Santa Claus rode into town on the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department’s Engine 4.

As Santa Claus made his way to the Leroy Anderson Memorial Grandstand, a chorus and a choir both made up of Region 14 students serenaded the crowd with an assortment of Christmas carols.

Santa Claus then helped acting first selectman Barbara Perkinson with a countdown to light the tree.

Just Woodbury took the following photos at the tree lighting festivities.
