Saturday Office Hours will Focus on Proposed Municipal Budget

WOODBURY – First Selectman Bill Butterly’s special Saturday office hours for May 5 will cater to property owners who have questions and concerns about the proposed 2018-19 municipal budget.

Butterly will be joined in the Shove Building by Alex DeSorbo, Chairman of the Board of Finance, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Board of Finance has recommended a budget of $11,115,316, which is a 9.42% increase over the current fiscal year budget. However, the proposed budget projects an overall mill rate reduction of 0.19 mill, or 0.7%.

Citizens are encouraged to bring any questions they may have regarding the budget, or any other topics of interest or concern.

A Town Meeting about the budget will be held on May 21.
