Tigers, Phillies, and Wildcats Post Opening Day WBSCT Wins

WOODBURY – Woodbury Baseball & Softball opened its season on April 28 with all but one team in action.

The following results were reported to Just Woodbury via its self-reporting feature. Winning or Woodbury (in the case of games against out-of-town opponents) coaches are encouraged to submit the game results.

ColorGraphix Tigers 9, Ovens of France Mariners 3

The Tigers defeated the Mariners 9-3 the start off the 2018 Minor League season.

For the Tigers, Evan Jones pitched the first two innings and Brady Herman pitched the last three. Will Vinciguerra made a nice hit to Left Field.

The Tigers completed a triple play on a fly ball catch.

LV Electric Phillies 13, Grass Roots Pirates 4

Whit DePreter recorded the first win for Phillies and Keller Jones got two hits.

Robert Metcalf pitched well for the Pirates.

Kolesnik Law Firm Wildcats U12 softball 10, Pomperaug 8

Sadie Girgasky struck out four batters and Carly Shook struck out two to help lead the Wildcats past Pomperaug 10-8.

Girgasky, Zoie Cole, Saylor Modica, Hannah Kimball, and Lindsey Kolesnik had key hits for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats had a five-run inning in the fourth.

Maggie Perrella was solid behind the plate for three innings.
