Woodbury 7th Grade Boys Basketball Wins First of the Season

The Woodbury 7th grade boys travel basketball team has won one of its last three games to raise its record to 1-5. Woodbury fell to Torrington and New Milford, and defeated Brookfield for its first win of the season.

Torrington 45, Woodbury 26

Dylan Chung led the Warriors with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Ben Stewart added 8 points and also had 11 rebounds. Braedon Purser had 4 points and a couple of big blocks while Treydon Medonis and Michael Bambino chipped in with 2 points each. A tough game all around. The Warriors could not get into a rhythm, with the other team causing too many turnovers to come back from.

New Milford 47, Woodbury 41

Ben Stewart had is best point game of the season. He led the Warriors with 20points and 8 rebounds. Nate Bartoli played his best game of the year scoring 13 points, with one 3 pointer and 11 assists. Dylan Chung had 4 points and 12 rebounds. Braedon Purser had 2 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Treydon Medonis chipped in with 2 points and 3 rebounds. The Warriors played great defense against one of the top teams in the league. They played very well within the offense, generating 20 points off layups.

Woodbury 56, Brookfield 28

Woodbury Warriors get their first League win of the year in a blowout of visiting Brookfield. Ben Stewart led the Warriors with 19 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and a block. Dylan Chung had his best overall game with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists. Braedon Purser had his best game as well chipping in 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Nate Bartoli had 4 points and distributed the ball beautifully, dishing out 9 assists. Everyone on the team scored in this game! Treydon Medonis had 4 points, Michael Bambino had 2 points, Ryan Ponte had 3 points, and Andrew Greene scored the first points of his season, scoring a great put back after a great rebound over the biggest kid on the opposing team. Things are looking up for this fiesty crew of Warriors!!!!
