Woodbury Drug Wizards Win Final 3 Softball Games

WOODBURY – The Woodbury Drug Wizards 8U girls softball game won their last three games of the season. The Wizards defeated Pomperaug 15-5, New Fairfield 7-0, and Bethel 16-1.

After being rained out on June 2, the Woodbury Drug Wizards 8U Softball team beat Pomperaug on June 3. All the players hit well, especially Caitlyn Grabel and Sami Sorcher, with great bunting by Kate Wagner. The girls played solid defense lead by Grace Hart and Erin O’Leary. A few picture are attached.

Solid team defense held New Fairfield to just one baserunner over the 5 innings played on Saturday. The team was led by great hitting from Jordan Matula and Madeline Manka.

On Sunday, the Woodbury Drug offense was led by Savanna Carroll who had a double and two singles. A consistent hitting performance by Julia Waters, Allie Zulpa, and Alexia Binette helped secure the win.

The season has ended for spring softball but most of the girls are committed to 8U travel softball this summer. Sorcher was selected to represent the team in the all-star game in New Milford next Saturday.
