WOODBURY – Woodbury Middle School raised its record to 6-0 with an 8-1 win over Wamogo on Thursday.

Seven different WMS players put the ball in the Wamogo net. Brett Davino scored two goals in a matter of minutes, and Nate Bartoli, Andrew Greene, Max Wolf, Eli Brochu, Zack Hellwinkle, and Owen Hale each had one goal.

Bartoli has two assists, and Greene, Aiden Colby, and Nick Higgins each had one assist.

With a 6-0 halftime lead, Woodbury head coach Adam Brutting said he had his team work on the things they need to improve on in the second half.

“We talked about trying to get corner balls and get some good crossing balls, because that’s something that we definitely need to improve on,” Brutting said.

Brutting awards a “Caveman” of the game to one playr who does something a little extra on the field to help the team. His Caveman for the game Thursday was Ben Faraci.

“Ben stepped in and played center defense and distributed the ball real well,” Brutting said. “He usually plays striker and middie, but we’re trying to mix things up and give these kids the opportunity to become better players in all different spots.”
