Woodbury U8 Baseball Teams Win Big

WOODBURY – Woodbury Baseball & Softball U8 baseball teams have gone 2-1 is summer league play this week. Here are the recaps, and a photo gallery of the two games played Thursday, July 5:

Woodbury Raptors 15, Brookfield 14

The Raptors trailed Brookfield 14-9 and put together a 6-run 3-out rally in the top of the sixth inning for the win. Trip Nelson singled to allow Adam Hart to score the game-winning run.

Joseph Anton had 4 hits for Woodbury, and Hart and Liam Guman had 3 hits. Grayson Leveille had 2 hits for Woodbury.

Raptors catcher Kamden Blackman caught a foul-tip third strike to end the game.

Woodbury Bulldogs 23, Brookfield 8

Max Sorcher, Jacob Fazzino, Darren Sullivan, Zach Santapietro, Danny Searles, and Jake Lambert each had a 3-hit game, and James Young, Troy Brighthaupt, Danny DeGrraffenreid, Ryan Alther, and Julian Ocasio each had 2 hits.

Danbury 19, Woodbury Raptors 0

Woodbury got three hits against Danbury, one each from Joseph Anton, Roman Criscione, and Grayson Leveille.
