WOODBURY – With nearly 20 vendors selling homemade artisanal objects, the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department will host its holiday bazaar will ru Nov 30 from 6-9 p.m. and Dec 1 from 9-3 p.m. at the same time as the town’s nearby Christmas Festival.
“This is what we are doing while our significant others are fighting fires,” says Donna Dains, chair of the women’s auxiliary organizing committee. Dains noted that she has four generations of volunteer firemen in her family.
Items on sale at the fourth annual event will include handmade wooden doll houses, crochet works, Christmas ornaments, lights, crafts, and many more. A raffle table will offer special prizes, and cast-metal replicas of the department’s 1928 Seagrave fire truck will be on sale for use as piggy banks. Coffee and refreshments will be available of course.
“We think of the event as a community service, not a fund-raiser,” Dains concluded.
The venue is the fire department’s meeting room, 25 Quassuk Rd., Woodbury. For info, call 203-263-3679.
